Braided River takes you on a journey towards personal growth and organisational success.
Are you coming with us?
Braided River is a facilitation, change management, and leadership coaching company, based in the beautiful Nelson Tasman region of New Zealand.
Our purpose is to unlock people’s true potential so that organisations can thrive. We achieve this by bringing teams in flow, a state in which individuals are performing at their highest level and the group is flowing in the same direction, towards a shared purpose.
We believe in a people-first approach to facilitation and change management. Organisations are comprised of people, after all. When your people are at their best, your organisation is at its best.
Using a range of proven methods and our exclusive Braided River framework, we help organisations to make effective decisions, achieve better outcomes, and create healthy, high-performing cultures.
Meet Richard
Braided River was started by Richard Brown, an experienced business leader, facilitator, coach, and licensed Insights Discovery® practitioner, as well as a loving husband and devoted father.
Having worked in senior leadership positions at reputable companies for the past 30 years, including roles as a facilitator, Richard has developed a deep understanding of what drives people - and organisations - to succeed.
Richard has 28 years’ experience in the horticulture industry, based in Motueka. For 18 of those years, he was involved in working with Te Tauihu iwi. He spent 10 years as a faculty member of the Canterbury Institute of Management Executive Staff Course, and for the past decade he has been instrumental in the growth and management of a successful cider company, now owned by DB Heineken.
With such breadth of experience, Richard has the ability to connect with a wide range of people, from company executives to farmers, families and individuals who are seeking clarity in their life and success in reaching their goals.
Today, Richard is focussed on applying his expertise to coaching business managers and executives in authentic leadership, and helping companies create healthy, collaborative cultures in which staff feel empowered and fulfilled.
Richard takes a courageous and wholehearted approach, weaving his personal struggles and stories into his work. Through his own authenticity and vulnerability, he succeeds in bringing these qualities out in others, creating space for personal breakthrough and meaningful change.
